Top 5 Former or Current Ministers in Modi Cabinet

 1. Nitin Gadkari | 61

Surface Transport & Shipping
Constituency: Nagpur, Maharashtra Assets: Rs 15.4 crore

Gadkari has made a strong comeback after being forced to quit as BJP chairman following the Purti contestation. This Lok Sabha election was his first and he showed his electoral muscle by winning Nagpur, the megacity which houses the headquarters of the RSS. Gadkari has noway made any bones about his fidelity to the RSS.
While there was little mistrustfulness that a press situation awaited him, the 56- time-old's equations with Modi haven't always been smooth. In fact, the smallest point was when Gadkari as BJP principal sought to rehabilitate RSS man Sanjay Joshi, extensively seen as a Modi baiter. Though Gadkari's stint as BJP chairman was largely citable, he's seen as a taskoriented person.
He constantly draws attention to his stint as PWD minister in Maharashtra in 1995- 96 when he executed the Mumbai- Pune thruway and also earned the nick- name of ‘ flyover man' for giving Mumbai a series of flyovers. His social leadership/ entrepreneur model has drawn review but he professes a belief in Antodaya or weal humanism.

2. Arun Jaitley | Remembering

Finance & Defence
Constituency: Rajya Sabha
Assets: Rs 113 crore Terms in Parliament: 3 Rajya S
abha

His first electoral incursion ended in defeat, but the 61- time-old counsel is part of BJP's top troika along with Modi and Rajnath.
His first electoral incursion ended in defeat, but the 61- time-old counsel is part of BJP's top troika along with Modi and Rajnath.
originally reluctant to accept a clerical post, he was converted by Modi and other BJP leaders as well as the Sangh to accept the job. He brings a lot to the table, and we are not talking about food though the pucca Punjabi loves his Amritsari kulchas. The new PM is a foreigner to networking in Parliament, but Jaitley is not. His capability to make musketeers across the aisle and resolve administrative standstills will help the standstills will help the government. His common sense approach should stand him in good vantage if he gets the finance ministry.
He can be anticipated to keep BJP's core constituencies like dealers and the middle- class in mind. A firm religionist in the growth mantra, he'll concentrate on a stable duty governance and moderate interest rates governance. He can be anticipated to keep the Modi government's political precedences similar as targeted weal programme rather than outright charities in mind, while looking to nurse the frugality back to health.
Easing interest rates should eclipse his docket along with reducing red tape recording and attributing taxation. In the former NDA government, he held the portfolios of law, company affairs, disinvestment and commerce.

3. Rajnath Singh | 66
Home
Constituency: Lucknow, UP Assets: Rs 2.9 crore Terms in Parliament: 3 Rajya Sabha, 2 Lok Sabha

The 62- time-old BJP chairman, who was born in Chanduli quarter, not far from Varanasi, has fashioned himself as a planter leader. He's nearly aligned with the RSS and doesn't take any major action without taking into account the Sangh's standpoint. His induction into a high- profile ministry is not a surprise as he has been a crucial Narendra Modi backer in his current term, burying earlier differences. As part of an alliance with Arun Jaitley and Modi, he baffled party stager L K Advani's shot to ail Modi being named the party's high clerical seeker. His stint as education minister in Uttar Pradesh in 1991 was marked by a drive to check copying in examinations and preface of “ vedic calculation ” as a subject.
During his posterior term as UP chief minister, he considered cultivating the “ utmost ” backward gentries as a political constituency, but the move came too late in the day to help BJP from losing power in 2002.
Ironically, the strong backing of these gentries is seen as a factor in BJP's big palm in UP in the 2014 LS election. A good lecturer, his current stint as BJP chief saw him diligently apply the strong agreement within the Sangh Parivar that Modi should be the PM applicant. He has also defied the temptation to play coalitions and allowed Modi's platoon a free hand in managing the Lok Sabha crusade.

4. Sushma Swaraj | Remembering

External Affairs
Constituency: Vidisha, MP Assets: Rs 17.6 crore Terms in Parliament: 3 Rajya Sabha, 3 Lok Sabha

It's been a long trip for Swaraj, who came the youthful press minister when she joined the Haryana government in 1977 at the age of 25.
She queried her 11th direct election this time. A sought- after contender and effective lecturer, she held I&B, health and administrative affairs portfolios in the Vajpayee government. The only BJP woman leader in the administrative board, she has been at odds with Modi, considering her own candidature for the PM post to be good of consideration. The scale of BJP's accreditation, still, has reduced her say-so in party affairs. Now that she has an important ministry, her ties with Modi may ameliorate.

5. M Venkaiah Naidu | 68

Former Vice President
Constituency: Rajya Sabha Assets: Rs 7.7 crore Terms in Parliament: 3 Rajya Sabha

Despite being seen as close to expert leader L K Advani, the former BJP chairman forcefully aligned himself with thepro-Modi camp. He reportedly advised Advani to withdraw his opposition to Modi, arguing that the Gujarat CM was the BJP's stylish bet.
He was also among the BJP leaders who vociferously opposed the move to sack Modi after the 2002 Gujarat screams. His term as party chief ended on a sour note as NDA lost power in 2004 but he is a known as a strong association man, having headed the BJP youth sect in Andhra Pradesh in 1973- 74. He held the pastoral development portfolio in the Vajpayee government, and is a member of the BJP administrative board.
